The Woods

The Woods is described as a place to grow in faith, meet friends, and make a life-long impact. It is also the home of Camp Awana and features a lakefront with what are described as breathtaking views. Summer Staff 2025 applications are open, and there are volunteer team opportunities in summer and throughout the school year.

The Woods uses the mission statement “where christ is first.” The leadership team includes Danny Clark (Camp Director), Larry Machonga (Development Director), Karyn Chapman (Guest Services Director), Clark Chapman (Buildings & Grounds Director), Nick Smies (Program Director), Vanessa Ramirez (Finance & Registrar), Hailee Brunk (Food Service Lead), Katie Jean Story (Communications Lead), Abbigail Harvey (Communications Assistant), Kristian Ly (Guest Services Assistant), Keegan Harvey (Buildings & Ground Assistant), Tobin Schindler (Facilities Assistant), and Chris Siegel (Food Service Assistant). One testimonial says, “God does something special there like no other place,” from Jeff. Another says, “Camp is a place where you can find peace and quiet while enjoying beautiful scenery,” from Claudia. A third testimonial says, “The Woods is literally my number one favorite place in the world!” from Natalie.
