Paragon Activity Club

Paragon Activity Club is a program of Paragon Community Services that is designed for children, adolescents, and young adults. The program is part of an organization that offers programs for individuals with a wide array of special needs. It provides an atmosphere that offers group engagement and social skill building while encouraging and promoting individuality among its clients.

• Ages: 5–18 years old

For almost 40 years, Paragon Community Services has been providing day services for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Paragon’s mission is to provide creative, community- and facility-based activities for adults and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Across its various locations, Paragon offers a comfortable, home-like feel that can accommodate each individual’s unique needs, lifestyle, and schedule.

Paragon’s stated mantra is “empowering people to endless possibilities.” The program strives to maximize personal growth, self-esteem, and independence in every participant. Its operating principles include person-centered care and attention, commitment to community involvement, empowerment of choice, and treating individuals with dignity, compassion, and respect.

One parent shared that the atmosphere at Paragon provides for group engagement and social skill building while promoting individuality, and that this has supported their child in developing life skill sets beyond what they expected. Another parent described Paragon Community Services as a wonderful program, noted that their daughter is happy and excited when the Paragon van picks her up, and stated that the staff are very caring, fun, and keep the family updated about any issues.
