About
Paragon Activity Club is a program of Paragon Community Services that is designed for children, adolescents, and young adults. Paragon Community Services offers programs for individuals with a wide array of special needs, and Paragon tailors programs to the personalized needs of each participant. Paragon believes the most effective programs are dynamic and flexible, with a caring touch.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
For almost 40 years, Paragon Community Services has been providing day services for adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Paragon’s mission is to provide creative, community- and facility-based activities for adults and youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Paragon’s goal is to promote the highest level of independence while improving the lives of the people they serve, and to provide greater independence and improve the lives of the people they serve by striving to maximize personal growth, self-esteem, and independence in every participant.
Paragon’s various locations provide a comfortable, home-like feel that can accommodate each individual’s unique needs, lifestyle, and schedule. Paragon’s philosophy states that all people, regardless of ability level, have the right to be involved in and give back to the community. Paragon’s core competencies are a commitment to quality care, flexibility, great customer service, creative problem solving, and innovation, and its operating principles include person-centered care and attention, commitment to community involvement, the empowerment of choice, treating individuals with dignity, compassion and respect, and a supportive and engaging work environment built on integrity, accountability and teamwork.
One parent shared that Paragon’s stated mantra of “empowering people to endless possibilities” is demonstrated by management and staff on an ongoing and consistent basis, and described an atmosphere that provides for group engagement and social skill building while encouraging and promoting individuality among clients. Another parent described Paragon Community Services as a wonderful program, noted that her daughter is happy and excited when the Paragon van picks her up, and stated that the staff are very caring, fun, and keep the family updated about any issues.
