About
Southwest Aquatic Team offers competitive swimming and a learn-to-swim program called Swim America. The program includes swim lessons through Swim America and organized training groups for different experience levels, from beginners to swimmers who have qualified for the Olympic Trials. Swimmers can participate in specific groups such as the 8 & Under, Age Group, Junior, Senior, and Masters programs.
• Ages: 0–18 years old
Southwest Aquatic Team has been a registered USA Swimming Team for over 40 years and is described as perennially one of the top competitive swimming programs in Wisconsin. The mission of the program is “Empowering swimmers of all ages and abilities to become the best they can be through continued personal and athletic growth.” The coaching staff provides a structured, disciplined, encouraging, safe, and healthy environment with a focus on fundamentals of proper stroke technique, balanced training, dedication, and hard work, and an emphasis on developing confidence, respect, discipline, and dedication. Program values include Grit, Sportsmanship, Teamwork, being Growth oriented, and Enjoyment.
The Swim America lesson program lists Jackson Zgola as the contact, with the email [email protected]. One testimonial from participant Liz Brachmann states that SWAT runs a masters swim team that gave her a team and new friends, with early practices, fun meets, and that US Masters Nationals is “a blast.” Another testimonial from parent Meagan June states that joining SWAT has been an incredible experience for her family, that her children have grown into strong, confident swimmers, and that they have found a supportive and welcoming community that feels like home.
