Project Kindred has roots in 2008, a summer community formed in 2017, aligned community efforts came together and formed Project Kindred in 2020, and Navigators launches in 2025. Project Kindred’s mission is to create a citywide leadership system where young people discover who they are, connect across Milwaukee, and prepare to lead in every part of their lives. Navigators guides youth from grades three through young adulthood, and Project Kindred holds the structure that keeps everything connected. Project Kindred strengthens partnerships with families, mentors, schools, and organizations across Milwaukee, and partners open real doors as families, mentors, and partners join a shared effort to help young people grow through real experiences in the city.
