Swift Nature Camp is a summer camp for boys and girls that uses fun camp activities along with a Camp Zoo and Nature Center to increase a child's appreciation for animals, nature, and the environment. It is described as an overnight children's summer camp for boys and girls ages 6–15, with a teen leadership program for 16–17 year olds. The camp offers an exclusive Beginner Camper Program especially for younger campers who have never been to overnight camp before, along with a Special First Timer Camp, and it is non-denominational, small in size, and non-competitive. Activities include both water and land options, as well as canoe and hiking trips, with a focus on science, nature, and animals. Swift Nature Camp has ACA Accreditation. Lonnie and Jeff Lorenz are the owners and directors, and the camp notes that for more than 30 years they have had the privilege of this work. One camper says, “Swift allows me to be my real self with real people.” The camp also charters a private motor coach that takes campers from Chicago, Illinois and Chicago's North, West, and South suburbs directly to camp.
