Bookworm Gardens offers field trips, summer camps, Nature School, workshops, tours, Little Bookworms sessions, and the Fairyfolk Festival. The Fairyfolk Festival is described as the garden’s longest-running, fan-favorite event and is an immersive festival with mythical creatures, interactive experiences, and enchanting surprises designed for all ages.
• Ages: 0–12 years old
• Schedule: Little Bookworms meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays in July and August; the Fairyfolk Festival runs August 4–9 from 9am–5pm
Bookworm Gardens is a botanic garden inspired by children’s literature and includes over 80 different garden spaces, each inspired by a children’s book. It is open May through October. The mission of Bookworm Gardens is to inspire the love of books and nature in the young and young at heart. Over 25 years ago, Sandy Livermore had the idea to bring books to life one garden at a time, and Bookworm Gardens opened in 2010 and is now in its 16th season. Bookworm Gardens is a grassroots non-profit organization that values community connections, and over the past twenty years thousands of people have volunteered their time, talents, and treasures.
