Casa de Corazón Shorewood is a Spanish immersion early learning program that describes itself as an intercultural early learning program and inclusive, diverse daycare service within an intercultural community. The program uses the Casa Creative Curriculum and the Kindness Curriculum from UW’s Center for Healthy Minds. It offers full day bilingual preschool and a Spanish immersion early learning program in a bilingual environment.

The program is NAEYC-accredited and uses an NAEYC-aligned, research-based curriculum with nurturing routines that build language, reasoning, and self-regulation for kindergarten readiness. Casa de Corazón is NAEYC and Parent Aware Accredited.

Meals at Casa de Corazón Shorewood are scratch-made with organic ingredients and superfoods, prepared by ServSafe-certified chefs, and described as healthy meals that support holistic care for each child’s mind, body, and heart. The center uses secure facilities with key fob access and follows environmentalist practices.

One staff member holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, joined Casa de Corazón in March 2024 as a Preschool B Teacher, earned a CDA credential while in the classroom, and has developed skills in leadership, teamwork, and family engagement. The leadership team includes Nick Plummer (Franchise Owner), Keyshla Márquez (Director of Operations), Ana Cristina Sánchez (Director of Human Resources), Diana Londoño (Human Resources Coordinator), and Center Directors Natalie Flores and Ángel Pimentel.

Casa de Corazón reports that they decided to open their own center in 2019 and expanded to a second location in January 2025. Parent testimonials describe the program as offering Spanish and Cultural Immersion, caring staff, NAEYC accreditation, communication from staff, intercultural learning, an emphasis on organic food and sustainability, and exposure to diverse materials. Parents also report that their children bring Spanish songs and new words home, that one child speaks Spanish fluently and moves between English and Spanish, and that learning happens through play, art projects, activities, imagination, stories, and hands-on experiences.
