About

Kicks Unlimited After School offers movement based activities where kids can climb, jump, swing, and play. The program focuses on movement over sedentary activities and has no screentime, with staff led activities that include going to parks, going to splash pads, and going on adventures. Students also spend time learning self discipline, learning skills to protect themselves, learning self control, learning how to have respectful interactions, and learning teamwork, and many continue doing their kicks at home.

• Ages: 5–12 years old

The program takes place in what is described as Sun Prairie's most unique After School facility, which is described as a fun place to be, with all kids always included and never riding the bench. It is described as a movement based childcare alternative with specifically structured and programmed activities that emphasize freedom through structure and personal responsibility with caring interaction. The program states that safety is #1, that class spaces are limited, and that it offers late pickup and is almost always open when school is out, with pickup times described as designed by working parents for working parents. Kids are led by caring, high energy staff with staff training through age appropriate activities, and the program states that kids will always know they are valued members of the program and part of the team each day.

The stated mission is that the goals for Kicks Unlimited After School students are the same as parents’ goals: confidence, self-esteem, and healthy habits for life. The program notes that children are surrounded by peers striving toward the same goals, building friendships and being supported in their journey.

One parent feedback states that their family started with the summer camp program and then joined the after school program, and that they appreciate a program where they do not worry about their daughter, describing her as safe and active going to parks, splash pads, and on adventures. The same feedback describes the daughter building confidence, learning self discipline and skills to protect herself, and a younger brother learning self control, respectful interactions, and teamwork, with the parent enjoying watching them do their kicks at home and calling the Kicks Unlimited team “top notch.” Another parent feedback states that their daughter loves Kicks, that the after school program is “amazing,” that they are excited for the summer program, and that the daughter is excited every day to go and disappointed on days she misses, describing the team as “outstanding.”
