Boys & Girls Clubs of West-Central Wisconsin offers a wide range of enriching programs and activities that focus on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and life skills. For 24 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of West-Central Wisconsin has been a cornerstone of support for youth in Sauk, Columbia, and Monroe Counties. The Boys & Girls Club West Central Wisconsin was founded in Tomah in September 2000, and the Boys & Girls Club of Baraboo/Sauk County was founded in September 2001. In 2009, these two clubs merged and officially adopted the name Boys & Girls Club of West Central Wisconsin. The Reedsburg club opened in 2017, with the current Reedsburg club opening in downtown Reedsburg in 2018, and the Portage (City) club opening in May 2023. The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of West-Central Wisconsin is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where kids can learn, grow, and thrive, and to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The organization reports that 93% of its members are on track to graduate high school, 75% of its members plan to obtain a college degree after high school, and 87% of its members report getting to explore new things at the club. The Portage (City) club was opened in partnership with the Portage Community School District, and the organization states that it strives to be the out-of-school time provider of choice across rural Wisconsin.
