For 24 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Wisconsin has been a cornerstone of support for youth in Sauk, Columbia, and Monroe Counties, after being founded in 2000. The organization’s mission states that it provides a safe, nurturing environment where kids can learn, grow, and thrive, and that it aims to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. It reports that 93% of its members are on track to graduate high school and that 75% of its members plan to obtain a college degree after high school.
The organization notes that it serves West Central Wisconsin. Its Reedsburg club opened in 2017 in an old hardware store, and by 2018 the local community with city support expanded its capacity and opened the current club in downtown Reedsburg. Portage (City), its newest club, opened in May 2023 thanks in large part to a partnership with the Portage Community School District.
