Camp SuperHero

Camp SuperHero introduces participants to local nonprofits through unique, hands-on volunteer activities and interactive volunteer experiences. During each session, a Volunteer Center staff member leads a group of 30+ participants to different nonprofit organizations from Monday through Thursday, where they take part in volunteer projects to benefit local community nonprofits.

• Ages: 10–17 years old
• Schedule: Two week-long, half-day camps in July with sessions offered July 6–10 and July 20–24
• Price: The cost for participation is $30 per session for Camp Leaders and $145 per session for Campers, and a camp t-shirt is included.

Each week, campers engage in volunteer projects that benefit local community nonprofits, and transportation to and from the nonprofits is provided. Camp SuperHero began in 2014 and is a tribute to the late Doug Ziegler, who is described as having lived his life as a true superhero, never backing down from an opportunity to make the community a better place. The Volunteer Center states that its mission is to inspire, engage, and empower people to volunteer and make a positive impact in communities.
