About the provider

Wilderness Adventures has operated since 1973 and says it has more than 30,000 alumni. Its trip leaders are described as experienced outdoor leaders who bring safety, fun, and community to every program. The program is accredited by the Gap Year Association, has been featured nationally on All Access with Andy Garcia, and enrolled students may earn academic credit through the University of Montana and the University of Wyoming’s Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources. The site also says it welcomes students from across the country and from different backgrounds, and that everybody is welcomed and celebrated.

Grades listed refer to the student’s school grade during the 2026/27 school year. Alterations to itineraries may be necessary and unavoidable for the health, safety, well-being, and enjoyment of students. If an activity or area is altered, it will be replaced with a comparable activity or area, conditions permitting. Normal terms and conditions apply to trips with itinerary changes.
