About
The Little Gym offers gymnastics, dance, parent/child classes, pre-K gymnastics, and grade school gymnastics, along with camps, kids birthday parties, and a Parent Survival Night. The program includes movement-based learning and imaginative play in a positive, non-competitive spirit, using a Three-Dimensional Learning philosophy called Get Moving, Brain Boost, and Citizen Kid. Its gyms are described as safe spaces for children and parents to explore gymnastics and more, with programs that get kids moving, boost their brainpower, and emphasize social and emotional learning.
• Ages: 4 months–12 years old
The Little Gym was founded by Robin Wes, who opened the first location in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington, and more than 300 locations now operate worldwide over forty-five years later. Its mission states that, for children ages 4 months to 12 years and their parents, The Little Gym gymnastics programs help children learn and grow through movement and imaginative play. The organization also runs a philanthropic and sustainability program called Big Hearts, which looks for simple and effective ways to positively impact communities so all children, today and in the future, have a safe and healthy place to live and grow. Parents have shared feedback such as Annemarie Gormley’s note that her boys have taken classes with Miss LeAnn, Miss Katie, Miss Erin, and Miss Megan for years and that these teachers are patient, kind, and fun; Priscilla A’s comment that her son loves his classes, looks forward to every session, and finds the staff attentive, caring, and welcoming; and Laura Rhoa’s description of The Little Gym and its teachers as a great activity to burn energy and practice motor skills, with plans for her baby to start classes when old enough.
