For 75 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley has been creating equity and opportunity for youth and now offers affordable after-school and summer programs for more than 20,000 young people in grades K–12. The programs are organized around four stated priority outcomes: Academic Success, Good Character and Leadership, Healthy Lifestyles, and Career Pathways and Workforce Readiness, and are rooted in social-emotional development practices. The organization describes itself as the largest childcare provider in the Valley and as offering high-quality, affordable programs that stay open late, with snacks and a hot, nutritious dinner included at no extra cost. Its mission is to empower young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible members of the community. The staff is described as caring, professional, and well-trained, and the organization refers to its offerings as award-winning programs and as the most trusted out-of-school-time programs in Phoenix and across the Valley. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley also acknowledges support from Valley of the Sun United Way for its after school programs.
