Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley states that its mission is to empower young people, especially those who need them most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible members of the community. For 75 years, BGCAZ has been creating equity and opportunity for youth through academic, social, and workforce opportunities. The organization offers affordable after-school and summer programs for more than 20,000 young people in grades K–12 across 30 Clubs in the Valley and is described as the largest childcare provider in the Valley and an equal opportunity provider that does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, genetics, veteran or disability status. Its programs are described as award-winning, rooted in social-emotional development practices, organized around four priority outcomes (Academic Success, Good Character and Leadership, Healthy Lifestyles, and Career Pathways and Workforce Readiness), and as the most trusted out-of-school-time programs in Phoenix and across the Valley.
