Youth Enrichment and Youth Sports Programs are part of the offerings at the Valley of the Sun YMCA. The youth enrichment programs are designed to provide young people with opportunities to develop essential life skills, foster creativity, and build self-confidence. The youth sports programs promote skill development, teamwork, healthy competition, and fun.
The Valley of the Sun YMCA was born in 1892, before Arizona became a state, and is one of the oldest nonprofits in Arizona. It is also one of the largest nonprofits in the state and serves over 100,000 families in 15 communities across Arizona. Its mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The organization states that it is a community and a family focused on embracing today’s social responsibilities together. State-licensed early learning programs at the YMCA use a developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth of children.
