Southwest Human Development is Arizona’s largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a healthy foundation for children from birth to five and offers more than 40 early childhood programs and services. The organization serves more than 140,000 children, families and professionals in Arizona and has more than 800 caring and highly-qualified staff. Birth to Five Helpline calls are answered by bilingual (English/Spanish) early childhood specialists, and the service is open to all Arizona families with young children and professionals. The organization notes ©1981–2026 Southwest Human Development, Incorporated and offers nationally-recognized professional development opportunities such as Quality First Coaching and Assessment, Smart Support Mental Health Consultation, Birth to Five Helpline for Professionals, and Language and Learning Initiatives. Molly Strothkamp is the Senior Program Manager for Mental Health Services in the Birth to Five Center of Excellence. One family shared that they “see a difference between them and others not in the program” and that their children are “learning basic skills like being the line leader or the door holder” and noted that “other kids don’t know their letters and numbers.”
