Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale offers homework help, tutoring, educational enrichment, and high-yield learning activities through PowerHour. It also includes summer modules such as Summer Brain Gain, a STEAM Makerspace Studio, America Reads tutoring, workforce readiness, Diplomas 2 Degrees, Money Matters, Leader in Training, and CareerLaunch.

• America Reads — Uses Arizona State University Federal Work Study students as tutors to help children improve reading skills and reading and math proficiency.
• Workforce Readiness — Allows kids and teens to explore interests and passions, develop employability skills, and apply knowledge to real-world work experiences.
• Diplomas 2 Degrees — teens · Encourages teens to make connections between interests and future career paths, plan and prepare to enter postsecondary education, and develop social-emotional skills.
• Money Matters — 7th–12th Grade · 25 facilitator-led sessions focused on financial literacy.
• Leader in Training — 7th–12th Grade · A summer internship at the Club with a schedule, performance reviews, a uniform, trainings, and skill development.
• CareerLaunch — 7th–12th Grade · Teen job-readiness and career preparation program with activities to explore careers and identify needed skills and education.
• After-School Program — K–12th Grade · After School until 6:30 p.m.; some locations vary · $260–$340 per month · After-school programs, summer camps, and school break opportunities are offered; rate page lists after school at $260/month and before & after school at $340/month.

About the provider

The program says it is committed to developing the country’s future generations of productive, caring, responsible citizens. Its community involvement includes community service, advocacy, activism, and service to the Club and community through programs such as Keystone Club and Torch Club.

Monthly billing occurs between the 1st and 5th of each month using the credit card on file. Email [email protected] before the 25th of the upcoming month to cancel after-school programming. Summer Camp cancellation requests must be provided 10 business days prior to the week to cancel. An active $25 annual membership is required for all youth and teens.
