Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley – After School & Summer Programs offers meals, snacks, and a hot, nutritious dinner at no additional cost along with homework help, tutoring, and daily academic enrichment activities. The program includes sports, daily physical activity, arts, physical fitness, healthy fun and recreation, and a variety of education programs and academic support. Participants also take part in character development, leadership training, and career pathway and workforce readiness learning, including internship opportunities and other activities.

• Schedule: After school programming from 3pm–7pm
• Price: At just $40–$80 per month during the school year (including snacks and a hot, nutritious dinner at no additional cost)
The program serves more than 20,000 young people in grades K–12 through high-quality, affordable programs that stay open late and support families’ work schedules by staying open until 7 pm. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley states that its programs are organized around four Priority Outcomes: Academic Success, Good Character & Leadership, Healthy Lifestyles, and Career Pathways & Workforce Readiness, and that members engage in daily academic enrichment activity rooted in social-emotional development practices. The organization reports that members develop skills such as curiosity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking; make healthy nutrition choices; employ resistance and decision-making skills; refrain from participating in risky behaviors; demonstrate leadership and service to others in the Club and in the community; and understand their rights and responsibilities as community members. BGCAZ describes its staff as caring, professional, and well-trained and notes that it provides award-winning programs. For 75 years, BGCAZ has been creating equity and opportunity for youth through academic, social, and workforce opportunities, and its mission is to empower young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible members of the community.
