- General schedule: Classes at Gymnastics World Central are divided into 8 sessions of 6 weeks each. Your child will receive bi-annual evaluations, after which recommendations are made regarding your child's placement.
About the provider
Gymnastics World was established in 1983 as Gymnastics Center of Tucson, changed its name to Gymnastics World in 1988, and was later renamed Gymnastics World Central. Yoichi Tomita is the current owner, and he founded Gymnastics World in 1983. The program says its goal is to help children achieve physical and emotional growth to gain self esteem through gymnastics training in a fun, progressive, and safe environment. It also states that Tomita was the Japanese National High School All-Around Champion in 1973 and served as assistant coach to the USA Olympic Men's Gymnastics Team in 1988 and 2000.
At Gymnastics World, training and progress are emphasized rather than results and competitions. Safety awareness is the prime concern. Parent & Tot emphasizes listening and following directions in a safe and fun atmosphere. Competitive team participation is by coach's invitation or tryout only.
