The Hidden Genius Project

The Hidden Genius Project offers the Intensive Immersion Program for rising 9th-11th graders, with Black male youth encouraged to apply. It also offers Catalyst Programs with free single- and multi-day events and workshops led by Youth Educators, including introductions to mentors, basic computer programming, and pathways to tech careers. Community Partner Programming includes on-site, exposure-based programming in partnership with community organizations.

About the provider

The Hidden Genius Project was founded in Oakland in 2012. Its mission is to train and mentor Black male youth in technology creation, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills to transform their lives and communities. The organization also works with community organizations and serves thousands of young people through intensive and exposure-based programming.

Black male youth are the primary focus of the Intensive Immersion Program. The website states that youth of all backgrounds are welcome for Catalyst Programs and Community Partner Programming. No programming skills are required for the Intensive Immersion Program.
