The program also offers summer camps and summer classes for dancers who want to continue training outside the core academic year.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: The core ballet program follows the traditional academic year, running from mid-August through early June.
• Price: Dancers who choose to participate will be asked to contribute a recital fee (amount to be determined) to help cover production costs.
Founded in 2003 by Artistic Director Abra Rudisill, Alameda Ballet Academy has been offering its program since 2003. Drawing on over 20 years of experience as a Prima Ballerina and Ballet Mistress with the Oakland Ballet, Rudisill leads the program’s classical ballet training. The Alameda Ballet Academy is committed to delivering high-quality classical dance education, nurturing artistry, self-expression, grace, and musicality while fostering a passion for the art of dance. Alameda Ballet Academy and its affiliated performing company, Alameda Civic Ballet, were created to bring the elegance and discipline of classical ballet to the heart of the community. The program features a dedicated faculty, twice-yearly student evaluations to determine readiness for advancement, a Performance Agreement signed by both student and parent or guardian for those who perform, and a requirement that every parent volunteer for performances.
