Alameda Community Sailing Center Youth & Teen Camps & Events offers Discover Sailing for ages 7-12, Seasoned Sailing for ages 8-12, and Teen Sailing for ages 12-16. The seven-week sailing programs use Sail Cubes, RS Fevas, FJs, 420s, and Lasers, and the center also lists special events called The Floating Pumpkin Patch and On-Water Trick-or-Treating.

• Discover Sailing — 7-12 · Sundays 9:00 AM-4:00 PM; Wednesdays 3:30 PM-6:30 PM · $625 per session · Seven-week program for beginners and those with limited on-the-water experience. Scholarships available.
• Seasoned Sailing — 8-12 · Sundays 9:15 AM-4:15 PM; Tuesdays/Thursdays 3:30 PM-6:30 PM; Wednesdays 3:30 PM-6:30 PM · $625 per session · Seven-week sailing program for experienced sailors. Scholarships available.
• Teen Sailing — 12-16 · Sundays 1:30 PM-4:30 PM; Wednesdays 3:30 PM-6:30 PM · $325 per session · Seven-week part-day program for experienced teen sailors. Scholarships available.
• The Floating Pumpkin Patch — Sunday 12:30 PM-3:30 PM · $45–$60 · Special event open to all Sail Cube sailors and their guests.

About the provider

The program’s mission is to provide access and education. The program notes that strong swimming skills are not required, but participants should feel comfortable getting into Bay water, and properly fitting positive flotation life vests are required while on the beach, dock, and on or in the water.

We sail small dinghy sailboats; sailors must be able to move quickly across the cockpit and push/pull the boat on a dolly across the parking lot and up/down a sandy hill. Weather may be rescheduled or credited due to unsafe conditions such as thunder and lightning.
