Alameda Youth Basketball offers recreational basketball through an organized basketball league that includes practices, games, playoffs, semifinals, and championships. Each team has one practice during the week, and teams are offered an optional Sunday practice during November. All teams qualify for the playoffs.
• Ages: 8–13 years old
• Schedule: 2025–26 season runs November 3 to March 1, with practices starting in early November and games beginning December 6–7; there are no practices or games during the winter holidays, games are held on Martin Luther King weekend and President’s Day weekend, and playoffs run from late February through the first weekend in March
• Price: The sponsor fees are $400.
Alameda Youth Basketball, Inc. has provided recreational basketball for 31 years and is in its 31st year serving youth in the City of Alameda. AYB’s mission is to organize and operate a basketball league for elementary and middle school boys and girls to foster the spirit of good sportsmanship, competition, teamwork, leadership, physical fitness, and an understanding of the game of basketball, and the league is nondiscriminatory and does not deny for financial reasons the right of any otherwise eligible person to participate. Alameda Youth Basketball, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Sponsors are acknowledged and publicly thanked each season on a banner at the gyms where the games are played and in the Alameda Post, and there is an online store for gear and fan gear.
