Little Butterflies Preschool offers a sensory play-based licensed preschool program that includes activities such as drawing, handwriting, letter and number identification, counting, basic addition with pictures, sight word practice, patterns, rhyming, artwork, crafts, books, puzzles, playdough, play kitchen, Lego table, train table, swings, a climbing and sliding structure, and time in a sensory/quiet room. Children take part in specific planned activities such as Circle time singing, Letter “C” sharing, reading, math activities like leaf sorting and graphing, Chicka Chicka counting, and Shape Trees, sensory activities like rice tray tracing, Chicka letter bins, and salt tray work, and projects such as handprint names, leaf rubbing, watercolor C, broccoli-stamped fall trees, and show and tell, along with large motor activities including a “C” obstacle course, circus play, and swings. The curriculum is play-based, includes age-appropriate concepts and themes and unstructured free play, and uses teaching methods based on evidence-based multisensory approaches in a sensory-based indoor play area with swings, a climbing structure with slide, sensory manipulatives, and a quiet calming room.

• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Year-round preschool program on weekdays, with full-day options from 7:30am to 5:30pm and half-day options from 7:30am to 1:00pm or 1:00pm to 5:30pm, generally aligned with the AUSD calendar and including 2-, 3-, or 5-day per week schedules; drop-offs are not permitted between 1:30pm and 2:30pm due to nap/quiet time.
• Price: For the 2025–2026 school year, full-day monthly tuition is $1,787.50 for 5 days per week, $1,015.00 for 2 days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), and $1,372.50 for 3 days per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays); half-day monthly tuition is $1,375.00 for 5 days per week, $715.00 for 2 days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), and $990.00 for 3 days per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays), with an additional $1 per minute charge for pickups beyond 10 minutes after the end of class.

Little Butterflies Preschool operates a year-round preschool program aligned generally with the AUSD calendar, with the 2025–2026 school year running weekdays from August 11, 2025, through July 24, 2026, and the 2026–2027 school year running weekdays from August 10, 2026, through July 24, 2027. The program is operated by Swings and Wings and is described as a preschool program that prepares children aged 2.5 through 5 for kindergarten skills using a combination of academics and purposeful multi-sensory play, with class sizes limited to 15 children at a time. In order to attend, children must be potty-trained and at least 2.5 years old by December 1 of the enrollment year, and children in pull-ups are accepted with an additional potty training charge of $50 per month; families are asked to pack water or another beverage, snacks, and lunch from home, and the program is a nut-free facility that can provide a pre-packaged snack if a child requests an additional snack, with water bottles refilled as needed.

Little Butterflies Preschool is owned by a local POC woman who is also an Occupational Therapist, and the space is created to inspire exploratory play and is designed by an Occupational Therapist. The curriculum is unique and is designed in collaboration with an educator who has over two decades of teaching experience. The program’s mission is to foster learning through sensory-based exploratory play, and it is described as developmentally appropriate and play-based.
