The program states a mission to provide a nurturing environment where self-concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged, social skills acquired, and individuality respected. The mission also includes offering art, science, music, movement, and language arts through hands-on experiences, promoting a safe, kind, and clean environment, and developing in the child an active curiosity about the world and an enthusiasm for learning. The program describes itself as providing high-quality care and enriched educational programs for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and pre-kindergarten children, with a curriculum based on child interests and classrooms set up to promote exploration. It notes a balance of child-directed and teacher-directed activities, a play-based approach using developmentally age-appropriate concepts and themes, and nurturing learning centers to stimulate the growing, creative, and inquiring mind.
Little Seeds Children’s Center and Peter Pan Schools describe their program as accepting children as they are and placing them in a warm and loving environment. Families receive monthly newsletters and weekly lesson plans, and parents are given periodic child evaluations, with optional parent/teacher conferences. The program offers a fresh, daily, chef-prepared lunch option. All play structures and toys are selected for developmental levels and meet California State Licensing requirements. The leadership team includes Director Julie DeMauri. The program states that all of the staff at Peter Pan Schools are part of the community’s extended family of caregivers and educators. Families are asked to provide two snacks and a packed lunch, or baby food if needed, as well as prepared bottles when required. Daily items requested from families include disposable diapers, baby wipes, a crib-size sheet, a blanket, extra sets of clothes, sunscreen, and plastic bottles.
