Rhythm and Moves

Rhythm and Moves offers a music and physical education program that uses a unique curriculum in both subject areas. The program uses a standards-based structure where students work with their own piece of equipment to support learning the material being taught. Rhythm and Moves educators use a structure-based learning environment where students engage with meaningful and challenging content in both movement and music, including hands-on classroom experiences and performance opportunities in music and quality movement experiences in physical education.

Since its founding in 1984, Rhythm and Moves has become a pioneer in physical education and music education, and its curriculum has evolved over more than 30 years as dedicated music and physical education specialists. The objectives and content have been broadened to include the latest science surrounding physical and health education and music education, and the curriculum is described as the best and most comprehensive in the state of California. The program is WASC Accredited. Rhythm and Moves also offers professional development workshops that provide interactive experiences tailored to the needs of school staff to help guide teaching physical education. The program continually evolves to include the personality and dialogue from individual teachers, students, parents, and communities, and it shares the knowledge gained through its long history in these fields.
