• Ages: 3–12 years old

Flying Angels Gymnastics brings physical education into schools, preschools, and daycare centers throughout the North Bay and has programs throughout Marin and Sonoma Counties, teaching classes in over 25 schools in the North Bay. The program joins inspired, energetic, and experienced gymnastics instructors with local schools and preschools and is described as an innovative preschool gymnastics and movement education program. Small classes use specialized equipment, and children navigate obstacle courses and fitness stations at their school. Flying Angels Gymnastics also offers birthday parties branded as Flying Angels Gymnastics birthday parties, Flying Angels Gymnastics field trips to preschools or elementary schools, and a free trial class for schools.

Founder Steve Sassone has been a professional instructor since 1981 and is Kinder-Accredited and Safety Certified through USA Gymnastics. He is also the Director of the Northbay office of Kidpower, an internationally recognized child safety program that empowers children and families with “People Safety” skills. The leadership team includes Steve Sassone; Nancy Rush, Director of Pre School Gymnastics at Rohnert Park Gymnastics and choreographer for 5 Young Rep shows at Cinnabar Theater in Petaluma since 2009; and Jenny Martinez (Coach Jen). Nancy created and developed a Creative Dance class, a 9-month bridge program for children in kindergarten to better prepare them for the recreational gymnastics program, and implemented the “Jump to Success” gymnastics class for kids with special needs, with this model also being used in a gym in Seattle. Flying Angels Gymnastics lessons support the collaboration between a young child’s brain and body and directly support the educational goals of preschools and elementary schools.
