Lil’ Kickers & Skills Institute at Sofive Alameda offers Bunnies with parent participation and group learning with sensory-motor activities led by a coach. It also offers Thumpers and Cottontails with parent participation, Hoppers and Jackrabbits for following directions with coach guidance or a faster pace, Big Feet for basic soccer skill development, Micro Classes with parent participation and game-like situations, and Skills Institute with dribbling, passing, and attacking with numbers.
Programs
- Bunnies (18 - 24 Months) — 18-24 months · Parent participation. Focus: Group learning and sensory-motor activities led by our Coach.
- Thumpers (2 - 3 Years) — 2-3 years · Parent participation. Focus: Active engagement with the coach and peers, fostering early social skills.
- Cottontails (2½ - 3½ Years) — 2.5-3.5 years · Parent participation. Focus: Helping preschoolers gain some independence while still having parental support.
- Hoppers (3 & 4 Years) — 3-4 years · Focus: Fun, engaging class helping kids learn to follow directions with ample guidance from their coach.
- Jackrabbits (3 & 4 Years) — 3-4 years · Focus: Fun, fast-paced classes tailored for children with prior experience who are looking for their next level.
- Big Feet (5 & 6 Years) — 5-6 years · Focus: Introduction to organized soccer for children who are less competitive, emphasizing fun and basic soccer skill development.
- Micro Classes (4-6 Years) — 4-6 years · Parent participation. Focus: Designed for kids who are more competitive, with an emphasis on soccer fundamentals and game-like situations.
- Skills Institute (5 - 12 Years) — 5-12 years · Focus: Basic fundamentals like dribbling, passing, and attacking with numbers. Milestones: Players learn to follow multi-step directions and stay engaged for the full class duration.

About the provider
Lil’ Kickers started in 1999 and has grown into a national franchise with more than 130 locations in 29 states and provinces. The program is described as nationally recognized and trusted by millions of families nationwide, with over 2.8 million participants and counting. Its mission statement says it uses child development theories, child development professionals, experienced coaches, and thousands of hours of working with children to create a curriculum that introduces kids to soccer and so much more, while working on social, emotional, and cognitive skills and on being good sports and good teammates on and off the field.
Registration is always open. Parent participation is specified for some classes. Space is limited for the free class reservation. The open house is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 with multiple free class times between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM.
