Twirl offers art, play, parties, camps, kids night events, and Twirl craft kits. Children can finger paint and bake “tookies” (cookies) as part of the activities. The space is described as a creative indoor play space that kids will not want to leave.

Twirl is described as home grown in Alameda and as a community hub where families can come together and make tangible what their inventive minds conjure up. The space is described as thoughtfully designed to engage and spark imaginative play, with a whimsical composition that nurtures creativity for children and adults alike, and it is inspired by the purity of a child's creativity. Twirl’s founder, Sabrina, majored in Environmental Design at the University of California, Davis, received her Masters in Architecture from California College of the Arts in San Francisco, volunteered throughout college teaching children art and creative exploration, and later took child development classes. It took Sabrina nearly four years to dream up, plan and execute Twirl. Twirl’s mission states that it evokes a magical essence of making, collaborating and building community, and invites families to join in the act of making and play. Twirl was featured in a Red Tricycle SF article that called it “a creative indoor play space the kids wont want to leave,” and Alameda Magazine featured it with the quote “Worth a Twirl.”
