About

Job Corps is a free, residential career training and education program where students receive hands-on training in fields like manufacturing, health care, technology, construction, and other in-demand industries. The program offers training in 10 in-demand industries and more than 100 specific training areas, with over 120 campuses nationwide. Job Corps also includes Civilian Conservation Centers, where students learn in nature and work to sustain and improve the land, with options to train in wildland firefighting, urban forestry, and forestry conservation.

• Price: Job Corps is the nation’s largest free, residential career training and education program for low-income young adults ages 16 through 24. Job Corps provides free housing, nutritious meals, basic medical care, and a living allowance, and offers residential and nonresidential living options. It’s all free at Job Corps.

For over 60 years, Job Corps has prepared young people for careers in the nation’s fastest-growing industries and has helped thousands of students pave their path to success. The program’s mission states that careers begin at Job Corps, with options to finish a high school diploma or equivalent, train in one of 10 different industries, and access graduate resources. Civilian Conservation Centers within Job Corps are operated by the U.S. Forest Service and encourage students to learn in nature and work to sustain and improve the land they live on.
