Expedition Paddlesports is a one-week camp where campers spend every day on the water and every night camping under the stars. The program includes kayaking, whitewater rafting, stand up paddleboarding, teambuilding, and camping. Campers practice flat-water kayaking skills such as bracing, rolling, and self-rescue techniques, and work on whitewater skills including river reading, hydrology, and rapids scouting. Stand up paddleboarding time includes paddleboarding games, learning proper paddle strokes, practicing rescue techniques, and maneuvering paddleboards, and rafting time includes learning basics of rafting, safety and equipment, and using paddling techniques while rafting.

• Schedule: One-week sessions with Sunday check-in at 10:00 AM and Friday check-out at 3:00 PM
• Price: One Week Price $2,100. Airport Shuttle $50 one-way, $100 round-trip.
A typical day follows a set schedule that starts with a 7:00 AM wake-up, a Morning Circle at 7:15 AM, breakfast at 7:30 AM, and Self & Group Care at 8:30 AM, followed by a first adventure block at 9:00 AM, lunch at noon, and a second adventure block at 1:00 PM or a continuation of the first. Late afternoon and evening include time to hang out and bond at 5:00 PM, an Evening Circle at 5:45 PM, dinner at 6:00 PM, an evening activity at 7:00 PM, and Tent Time/bedtime at 9:00 PM. Campers also spend time on communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills practice, play games during downtime, share stories around the campfire, set up and break down camping equipment, keep their campsite space tidy, and cook meals in the backcountry.
The program is supported by two experienced Avid4 Adventure staffers and professional guides from a local whitewater rafting company, and instructors are all 18 and older with safety and skills training. Expedition Paddlesports runs with a team of up to 13 campers and is rated as Difficulty Rating 2 – Single Sport Specialty and Wilderness Rating 1 – Improved Site Camping. Campers sleep in basecamp tents, have no access to showers or running water, use portable or pit toilets without flush capabilities, and use filtered water that is brought to the site for drinking, hand washing, and food preparation. Transportation to and from recreation areas is provided, and campers use top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids.
