Heather Hill Riding Center

Heather Hill Riding Center offers a novice riders program for new riders, beginners, adults returning to the saddle, and students ages 5 to 18. The program includes riding, horsemanship, grooming, horse care, English riding, Western riding, and carriage driving. New riders begin with an introductory evaluation ride, and a second ride may be offered if needed.

At a glance

• General schedule: Riders join as part of a consistent training program and develop over time through regular riding, horsemanship, and time spent at the barn. After the initial lesson, riders join through a lease-based structure and are enrolled in a consistent training schedule.

About the provider

Heather Hill Riding Center has been operating since 1997. Laura Stevens leads the program. The mission is to put novice students on the right path for a lifetime of enjoyable, fulfilling riding and to focus on horsemanship, a close-knit community, and personalized care for both horse and rider.

Highly personalized approach; no two riders follow exactly the same path. Riders work across disciplines to build confidence and skill. Many riders choose to participate in Welsh Pony and local schooling shows.
