Round Meadow Farm Hunter/Jumper Training Program is a full-service hunter/jumper training stable that offers custom tailored training programs focused on the development of the horse and rider combination in all aspects of horsemanship. The training program is customized to help riders and horses advance their partnership and is designed to ensure high quality horse care, with a team of veterinarians, farriers, equine body workers, and equine chiropractors working together to keep the horses in top condition. Full-service grooming services are included, and the program manages SmartPak for clients who have established credit with SmartPak, with RMF blankets used on clients’ horses for an annual fee.
Round Meadow Farm was conceived in 1977, and the program’s head trainer, Nicole Bloom-Norris, has been building relationships with clients and their horses for the last 20 years. Nicole has established a hunter/jumper training program founded in excellent horsemanship and family values, and Round Meadow Farm’s students have consistently earned Regional and National Championships as well as top placings in Regional and National Medal Finals. The leadership team includes Head Trainer Nicole Norris, Assistant Trainer/Barn Manager Gardner Powell, Assistant Trainer/Rider Rose Carver, Guest Rider and Coach Alex Lebovic, and a full-time grooming staff that has been with the program for over 20 years.
Nicole (née Bloom) has worked with Karen Healey, George Morris, Jimmy Williams, Susan Hutchinson, Frank Madden, and Carleton Brooks. As a young rider, she was a member of the Zone 10 silver medal team at the North American Young Riders Championships and competed in the National Medal Finals at the Fall Indoor Shows, and as an adult she has earned several year-end championships in the rated hunter divisions and competed internationally in World Cup competition. Nicole is President of the California Professional Horseman's Association, sits on the board of the California Professional Horseman's Association Foundation, and is a member of the United States Equestrian Federation, the Pacific Coast Horse Show Association, the California Professional Horse Shows Association, the USET, and the ASPCA.
Assistant Trainer and Barn Manager Gardner Powell grew up riding in the Norfolk Hunt Pony Club and the hunt fields of Massachusetts, was a member of the Silver Medal Zone 1 Junior Jumper team, and competed in the USEF and ASPCA/Maclay finals as a junior rider. As a young professional she competed through Preliminary level in Eventing and trained her own horse, Rodeo, from a young horse at the racetrack to successfully competing in National Grand Prix classes. Gardner has been a USEF “R” Judge since 2001, has coached riders from Short Stirrup to National Championship classes including year-end championships at the State, Zone, and PCHA levels, trained the 2019 AQHA World Champion in Select Jumping, brought home three National Championships from the Arabian Sporthorse Nationals in 2020, judged the Arabian Sporthorse Nationals twice, and coached the Novice Flat National Champion of IHSA in 2023.
Assistant Trainer and Rider Rose Carver previously owned Maple Leaf Farm at the Del Mar Horsepark while attending USD from 2002–2005, later began Touchstone Stables, and has many year-end championships including being the leading WCHR Developing Pro (Southwest) in 2015. Guest Rider and Coach Alex Lebovic has 20 years of professional experience working with horses and riders of all levels, spent a few years working as a technology executive before returning to the sport full time in 2020, rode with Diane Langer as a junior, was a working student for Cyndi Merritt, and has been part of programs including Meadowgrove Farm and Karen Healey Stables.
Team RMF is described as a group of people passionate about horses and riding, and a sense of community is noted as something clients love best about Round Meadow Farm. Team RMF focuses on showing in California and the West Coast, with special trips to Canada, Kentucky, and the East Coast for Medal Finals and International Competition. A parent testimonial from Diana B. of Menlo Park states that with Round Meadow Farm, a rider is always in the best hands, that the barn offers professionalism and quality care for both horse and rider from lessons to the show ring, and that she highly recommends riding in what she describes as a fun full-service barn.
