About

Learn to Bike Camp is a half-day Learn to Bike day camp where aspiring cyclists practice biking using a thoughtful progression from scooting to coasting to pedaling. The program uses a time tested method and is intended for first-time riders or kids using training wheels or balance bikes, not those who can already ride. Campers have access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids, and campers are strongly encouraged to use their own bikes but may also borrow from the camp’s fleet.

• Ages: 3–6 years old
• Schedule: One-week sessions, Monday–Friday, morning half-day
• Price: AM Session Price $460; Early Drop Off - Starting at 8 AM $40

Learn to Bike Camp runs only in the morning from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and campers must be toilet trained by the start of camp. Camper-to-staff ratios are 5:1. The camp is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which states that Avid4 Adventure promises to provide an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, and increased confidence, and if Avid4 Adventure does not meet these promises, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free. A referral program offers friends $50 off their first camp and gives a $50 coupon for a future 2026 camp when they make a purchase.

Staff members are all 18 and older with serious safety and skills training. The leadership team includes Founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry. Avid4 Adventure states, “We believe in the transformative power of the outdoors,” and also states that it believes in empowering kids of all ages from PreK–12, with programs that evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17. The organization states that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe but does not “pack them up in bubble wrap,” and that it gives kids the knowledge and confidence to take calculated, well-communicated risks.

Avid4 Adventure’s summer camps are accredited by the American Camp Association, named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps, and the organization is a Certified B Corp. Avid4 Adventure operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The organization provides transportation to and from recreation areas and organizes big adventures in beautiful recreation areas.

One parent shared that Learn to Bike Camp was their daughter’s favorite camp and that before camp she biked with training wheels and during camp she learned how to ride without training wheels, later becoming able to ride her bike after two more park trips. Another parent said their child wanted them to join to see everything she learned and did that day, and described Avid’s staff as mature, responsible, and excited to share their passion with kids. A third parent said their kids had the best time at camp, still talked about it over a month later, and looked forward to going back the next year.
