• Ages: 14–18 years old
• Schedule: 5-day, 4-night overnight camps, plus day camps that run from 9am–4pm
For over 34 years, PGC Basketball has been the worldwide leader in teaching players how to think the game, be a leader, and run the show. The program offers a three-course curriculum that includes Playmaker College, Scoring College, and Point Guard College, and also provides a 3-camp pass that covers three camps for the price of two. Camps are open to incoming 9th–12th graders, college players, and coaches, and are described as life changing basketball camps for boys and girls. Each 5-day, 4-night camp includes meals and accommodations, and players are advised to bring a notebook and pen to camp.
PGC Basketball Camps uses a training format described as “Hear It” in the classroom, “See It” on film, and “Do It” on the court, with six hours a day of gym sessions and 40 hours of training followed by a “Tournament of Champions.” The program emphasizes basketball IQ, mindset, leadership, playmaking, confidence, and SCHAPE values (Spirit, Communication, Hustle, Approach, Precision, Enhance) as the foundation for the program. Camps are described as a “leadership laboratory” for every age and stage, and do not include talent shows, swim breaks, celebrity autograph sessions, or unstructured play. Over 200 camps run across North America in the summer and fall, with over 20,000 dedicated players attending each year and over 17,000 players from middle school to college attending each summer.
Over the past 34-plus years, more than 155,000 players and 11,500 coaches have attended a PGC camp, and players have flown in from over 65 countries to attend PGC in 2025. In 2025, 91 PGC grads played in the Division I NCAA Tournament, and 16 PGC grads are currently playing in the NBA and WNBA. The program states a mission “to inspire and equip every player & coach everywhere” and backs its camps with the PGC Promise money-back guarantee, along with an additional “Dicky D. Downright Crazy Guarantee” that offers a full refund plus $500 cash if a participant is not satisfied. Over the past decade, PGC has provided more than $2.5 million in financial assistance to players and has contributed to initiatives locally and globally.
Testimonials from parents, players, coaches, and well-known basketball figures describe their experiences with PGC Basketball Camps. Coach John Wooden is quoted as saying, “Point Guard College will greatly improve the play of any aspiring player,” and Jeremy Lin states, “The thing I love about Point Guard College is they teach players to think the game.” A New York Knicks assistant coach, Billy Lange, reports being “blown away by the level of teaching” his son received. Multiple parents and players comment on the teaching, organization, and personal attention at camp, and an observing coach notes that the course changed how their practices will look and sound.
