Summer at SHS offers sports activities that include basketball, football, lacrosse, swimming, and tennis. The program uses week-long sessions that include both morning and afternoon camps, with registration open for 2026. Sacred Heart Schools Atherton offers many options for rising Preschool through Grade 8 summer students through this program.

Since 1898, Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton (SHS) has educated students toward lives of meaning. Founded by the Society of the Sacred Heart, SHS is a Catholic, independent, co-ed day school for students in preschool through grade 12, providing a whole child education in the Sacred Heart tradition. The school’s educational philosophy and community ethos follow five primary goals: faith, intellect, service, community, and growth. The campus spans 63 acres and takes advantage of state-of-the-art sports facilities and fields for programs like Summer at SHS.
Summer academic courses at SHS enable students to focus in-depth and prepare for the coming school year. Camp Gator within the summer offerings includes individual sports clinics, with some lessons and workshops led by SHP athletes. Summer at SHS is open to the public.
The leadership team connected to SHS includes Kyle Kalmbach, Assistant Principal of Academics P-8; Myra Syed, Director of Curriculum and Instruction LS; Douglas Hosking, English & Health/Wellness Teacher SHP; and Sean McMillan, Assistant Athletic Director, Facilities and Operations. SHS is accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA), and the Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC). Community involvement at SHS includes a stated commitment to service, Summer Service Opportunities, the Sacred Heart Network Exchange, and participation in the Network of Sacred Heart Schools.
