Camp Fox offers a wide range of land and water activities, including ocean swimming, swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, snorkeling, fishing, tubing, tide pooling, and visits to aquariums. Campers also take part in hiking, archery, frisbee golf, table games, climbing walls, a challenge ropes course, a high ropes course, a rock climbing wall, crafts, gaga pit games, field and sports games, and special daily activities. Evenings include campfires with skits and songs that involve everyone at camp.

Camp Fox has been a summer resident camp experience on Catalina Island run by the YMCA of Glendale since 1926, and the YMCA of Glendale has been serving the surrounding community since 1922. Coed Youth Camps serve ages 8–17, Teen Camps serve ages 12–17, and senior campers ages 14–17 have a nightly program that focuses on team building and leadership development. Registered campers ages 15–17 can apply to the Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program in Youth Camps, and registered campers ages 16–17 can apply to the CIT program in Teen Camps. Teen Camp programming includes color team competitions, water sports, campfire skits, and cabin time discussions, and Teen Camp states that it prides itself on creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for kids from all backgrounds.
Family Camp at Camp Fox takes place over Labor Day weekend each year, and the price includes boat transportation, lodging, meals, and activities for the weekend. All ages are welcome at Family Camp, and families can make their own schedule for the weekend, including the option to relax on the beach all weekend. Each day at Camp Fox ends with a campfire where songs are sung and skits are performed that include everyone at camp.
All camp counselors at Camp Fox are volunteer high school and college students and young adults, and all are highly trained for the age levels they work with at camp. Families are asked to label items with the camper’s initials and pack them in a roller or duffle bag with the camper’s name on the side, and lost and found items left at camp are taken back to the YMCA of Glendale and donated to charity if unclaimed after one month.
