About
Catalina Sea Camp is an overnight summer camp that focuses on ocean adventure, marine science, and classic camp traditions. Campers take part in activities such as sailing, snorkeling, underwater exploration, marine science, kayaking, scuba diving, tubing, and sailing classes. The program also includes seafood cookery in an outdoor kitchen, a climbing wall with an auto-belay system, and recreation areas for Gaga ball, nine-square, basketball, and volleyball. Campers can learn to sail and can gain scuba certifications during their time at camp.
• Ages: 8–17 years old
• Schedule: 1-week sessions; 2.5-week sessions
The leadership team includes Summer Operations Director Paul Kupferman, Program Directors Britt Swanwick and Heather Peterson, and Catalina Sea Camp Summer Camp Director Jacqueline “Jacqui” Howe. One parent of an 11-year-old camper shared that their child arrived scared and unsure, was made to feel part of something, stepped out of their comfort zone, and returned with high confidence and self-esteem, and that the learning process was exciting enough that the camper decided to pursue a dream of becoming a marine biologist.
