Summer Tech Camp offers hands-on activities in coding, robotics, creative tech, engineering, mathematics, and technology. Campers take part in specific projects such as Inventors Workshop, Rube Goldberg, Gadgets and Gizmos, Java Basics 101, Chemical Engineering, Dash + Dot Robotics, Time Machine Lab, LEGO Robotics, Biomedical Engineering, Machine Learning, STEAM Labs, Hydroponics, Mad Science, Cybersecurity + Ethical Hacking, and VR Game Design, along with other computer-based programs and STEM activities. Summer Tech Camp sessions are described as having a deep sea twist.

• Schedule: Three sessions are listed for 2026—Session 1 (June 15–25), Session 2 (July 6–16), and Session 3 (July 20–30), each running 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, and each student can enroll in up to 2 of the 3 sessions

Summer Tech Camp has a Junior Camp for grades 2nd–6th (ages 7–12) and a Senior Camp for grades 7th–12th (ages 12–18). The program develops youth leadership and college preparation skills and utilizes project-based learning to nurture curiosity, creativity and collaboration, with a goal of increasing the interest and skills of youth in science and technology. Summer Tech Camp encourages individual growth by placing siblings and friends in separate groups, and no prior tech experience is required for campers. Free breakfast and lunch are provided for all campers, and parents may also pack a favorite snack or send their child with their own meals. Only adults 18 or older listed on the Pick-Up Authorization form can pick up a child, and parents can volunteer, subject to a verification process.
Summer Tech Camp is run by the Southeast Community Development Corporation (SCDC), a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization established in 1994, which reports 19 years of community outreach experience. SCDC’s mission is to promote community health, education, and safety, provide economic development, and improve the standard of living for residents of southeast Los Angeles County, and it states that, through education and technology, it creates an environment in which individuals are inspired to explore, discover and learn, ultimately empowering children and adults to be confident and innovative individuals who contribute positively to the community. SCDC has developed partnerships with several hundred schools, churches, nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders, and has participated in community awareness campaigns on public health, census outreach, broadband and small business education, financial literacy, and environmental concerns. It has administered bus shuttles for the cities of Montebello and Huntington Park, overseen a federally funded house renovation project for the city of Huntington Park, managed a year 2000 Census Questionnaire Assistance Center and a community business assistance center, distributed loans through the Small Business Micro Loan Program, formed a Southeast Health Coalition, and for fifteen years co-sponsored a college scholarship program and college conference fair for southeast area students.
