SLV Swim Center Swim Lessons offers swim lessons along with a swim team, parties, pool rentals, camps, clubs, and aerobics. The program also includes themed options such as Mermaid Camp, Magic Makers Camp, and D&D Camp. Over the years, the staff at SLV Swim Center have taught more than 200,000 swim lessons.

SLV Swim Center Swim Lessons is a family run business. The owner and founder, Donna Smith, started teaching swim lessons at her home pool almost 40 years ago, and in 1994 she and her husband bought the pool now known as SLV Swim Center and expanded the business. The pool water is kept warm, and the facility uses a U.V. sanitation system to help keep chlorine use minimal. The property also includes a hair salon on site, and the program offers very personalized lessons.
The leadership team includes Donna Smith (Owner and Founder); Shyra (Executive Director, Business Manager, Swim Instructor, Event Planner, Camp Manager, Guard, Aerobics teacher, Office Administrator); Max (Swim Team Coach, Camp Counselor, Property Manager, Pool Maintenance Specialist, Swim Instructor); and Tanya (Swim Instructor, Camp Counselor). Donna Smith started teaching swim lessons almost 40 years ago. Shyra has a BS in Early Childhood Education, as well as massage therapy, cosmetology, and Zumba licenses. Nathan has an AS in Theater and a BS in Film Production. Max has a BS in Sociology. Jisela graduated from Cabrillo College with a degree in Early Childhood Education, and Noel attends UC Davis where she studies History and Art.
According to the program’s mission statement, SLV Swim Center Swim Lessons enjoys teaching all children and adults and specializes in teaching people who are scared of the water how to swim. The mission statement also notes that the program not only focuses on teaching swimming but also cares about sensitive skin. Shyra and her husband Nathan have an Art and Film school for kids and donate their time to drama programs at local schools.
