Before & After School Programs (Y-Kids and Y-Scholars) include activities such as drawing, crafts, origami, manga, pottery, robotics, maker's club, and coding. Children also take part in outdoor sports, group games, the Fit Kids program, lap swimming, swim lessons, warm water fitness, water aerobics, pickleball, and youth basketball clinics.

Before & After School Programs (Y-Kids and Y-Scholars) serve Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade students. Y-Kids offers both fee-based and Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) options for TK–5th graders. Y-Scholars provides after school and summer programs for TK–8th grade students. The programs include academic skill-building, homework support, phonics work, and enrichment activities to develop young readers, along with hands-on STEAM activities such as robotics, maker's club, and coding. The Fit Kids program is included to support lifelong physical health. Early Learning Centers connected with the YMCA of the East Bay provide full-day, year-round care for eligible families with children ages 0–5. For more than 100 years, the YMCA of the East Bay has been bringing families, neighbors and friends together in a safe and fun environment to learn, play and grow. The mission of the YMCA of the East Bay is to Empower Youth, Advance Health, and Strengthen Communities. The organization partners with school districts across the East Bay and with qualified contractors, vendors, and service providers, and it emphasizes supplier diversity by welcoming bids from local, small, minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, and LGBTQ+-owned businesses.
