Berkeley Ballet Theater offers Junior/Senior Intensives, Summer Dance Classes, Pre-Ballet Summer Classes, a Free Summer Boys’ Class, and year-round programs including a Pre-Ballet Division, Youth Division, Studio Company, Boys Class, Adult Open Division, Rhythm & Motion, and Dance for PD®. Students can take part in classical ballet training, high-energy dance-based workouts through Rhythm & Motion, and free Dance for PD® classes for community members affected by Parkinson's disease.

• Schedule: Junior/Senior Intensives for ages 12–18 with placement class run June 15–26; Summer Dance Classes for ages 6–18 with placement class run June 8–25 and August 3–13; Pre-Ballet Summer Classes for ages 2–7 run June 8–July 8; the Free Summer Boys’ Class for ages 8–14 meets on June 8, July 6, and August 10
Berkeley Ballet Theater’s mission statement is “Building Ballet for Tomorrow.” BBT’s Pre-Ballet Division offers age-appropriate lessons that build a foundation for future study, and the Youth Division follows a rigorous curriculum rooted in classical ballet and informed by a modern approach to movement with a focus on body image and physical well-being. The pre-professional Studio Company performs in BBT’s annual programming and collaborates with organizations including San Francisco Girls Chorus, Berkeley Symphony, and BAMPFA, and also invites Youth Division dancers in Levels 7, 8, and 9 to share their love of dance with the community through these partnerships. BBT’s Adult Open Division serves dancers from absolute beginner to professional, and Rhythm & Motion classes use choreography rooted in dancer fundamentals and inspired by popular music from around the world. The Dance for PD® program offers free classes with live music to community members affected by Parkinson’s disease. BBT’s performance of Serenade, a Balanchine® Ballet, is presented by arrangement with The George Balanchine Trust and follows the Balanchine Style® and Balanchine Technique® Service standards established by the Trust.
