At Brick Tech LEGO Camps and Classes, the program utilizes LEGO to explain STEM and robotics concepts through guided, hands-on projects and structured play time. The program follows the Learning Through Play initiative put forth by the LEGO Foundation and uses LEGO materials to teach STEM concepts with a guided, hands-on technique. Students do not receive instruction books and are taught to apply their curiosity to engineer LEGO-built projects using custom LEGO kits tailored for each participant. Every child receives their own set of gears, motors, and Technic pieces, while only bulk parts are used for decorations and basic bricks. Each project includes an optional challenge that extends learning beyond the base build, and structured playtime allows participants to personalize creations and engage in collaborative play with peers. The program states a focus on a safe and fun learning environment and aims to inspire and captivate the imagination of every child in the program. The program’s summer camps are registered through Berkeley Parks and Recreation Department.
