About

Early Care & Education Preschool Programs are part of the YMCA of the East Bay’s Early Care & Education services for young children. The program uses Creative Curriculum, which emphasizes exploration and discovery as a way of learning. Daily routines include activities that follow this curriculum and are planned by teachers for both individual and group learning.

• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Full-day, year-round care

The preschool programs are led by compassionate, qualified teachers and an expert educator team. Classrooms are described as safe and welcoming, with a warm and nurturing environment where children are encouraged to explore and where children of all abilities are welcomed and their strengths are celebrated. Teachers plan for class goals while also meeting each child’s unique needs.

Early Care & Education Preschool Programs are part of a broader Early Care & Education system that serves eligible families with children from birth to 5 years old, including Head Start, Early Head Start, and State Funded Child Development programs that provide child care for eligible families. Each family is connected with a Family Advocate who works with parents to provide guidance, resources, and support to meet families’ needs and goals. Children receive healthy meals and snacks at no additional cost, and infants in the larger program receive formula at no additional cost, with health and dental screenings provided throughout the year. Health, nutrition, and hygiene are included in everyday learning.

The YMCA of the East Bay states that its mission is “Advancing Health, Empowering Youth, Strengthening Communities.” For more than 100 years, the YMCA of the East Bay has been bringing families, neighbors, and friends together in a safe and fun environment to learn, play, and grow. The organization notes that it has a local presence and national reach and that it welcomes bids from local, small, minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, and LGBTQ+-owned businesses, with Michael Saenz listed as the contact for bid submissions.
