About

Preschool Programs is part of a broader early childhood education offering that includes Head Start, Early Head Start, and State Funded Child Development programs for eligible families. The program uses the Creative Curriculum, which focuses on exploration and discovery as ways of learning. Classrooms are described as safe, welcoming spaces where children are encouraged to explore, and teachers plan for both individual and group learning while setting class goals and meeting each child’s unique needs.

• Ages: 3–5 years old

For more than 100 years, the YMCA of the East Bay has brought families, neighbors, and friends together in a safe and fun environment to learn, play, and grow. The organization’s mission is to empower youth, advance health, and strengthen communities. The broader early childhood programs serve children from birth to 5 years old and provide comprehensive care for their families, including full-day, year-round care for eligible families with children ages 0–5. The programs welcome children of all abilities and connect each family with a Family Advocate who offers guidance, resources, and support to meet family needs and goals. Children in these programs receive healthy meals and snacks, and infants receive formula at no additional cost, and health and dental screenings are provided throughout the year. The staff includes compassionate, qualified teachers who create a warm and nurturing environment, and the organization partners with school districts across the East Bay to provide dynamic and engaging programming.
