About

Summer Musical Theater Camps includes activities such as learning songs, learning dance, creating stories, arts and crafts, socializing with friends, and performing for fellow campers. Campers take part in monologue and group work, vocal lessons, and learning choreography as part of the program. The camps include both Story-based and Triple Threat options with musical-inspired and movie-inspired themes.

• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: 1-week, 2-week, and 3-week camps, with optional Before-Care from 8–9am Monday–Friday and After-Care from 3–6pm Monday–Thursday

Financial Aid applications for 2025 Summer Camps are due April 1, 2025. There is no drop-in option for Before-Care or After-Care, and attendees must pre-register for the full week. Invited Final Showings are planned for all two- and three-week camps, and these are subject to change based on CDC and local mandates and site regulations. As a small non-profit organization, the program does not produce an edited full-length video for every camp cohort. The theater staff work to make productions accessible to the Blind and Low Vision Community. Testimonials from families and audience members describe the Berkeley Playhouse as an intimate theater that produces large stage shows, with some noting value seating options, a sense of community, and frequent attendance at musicals with their children.
