About

Kids Teach Tech offers classes where students work on website design and development, web development, and building interactive websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The program also includes Python programming, data science, artificial intelligence, advanced artificial intelligence, machine learning, game coding using Python, and creative projects such as creating a Scratch game, a mobile phone app, and interactive projects inspired by Dr. King’s dream. Some classes focus on drone making, including designing, assembling, programming, and piloting a drone while learning principles of flight and electronics, and others focus on coding and design using SwiftUI, designing a user interface, writing code for an iPhone app, and interacting with AI to create art and write stories.

• Schedule: Offers single-day classes, multi-class series, and multi-day camps, including 1-day workshops, 2- and 3-class series, and 4- and 5-day camps that typically run between 10:00am and 5:00pm PST

Kids Teach Tech states that its mission is to empower youth to seize the technology opportunities of their future and to enable students to become teachers and leaders who create and teach classes for their community. The program has partnerships that include UC Berkeley Engineering, Georgia Tech, AI Institute, Urban League Bay Area, Urban League of the Greater SF Bay Area, Ostrich Air, FireBot Labs, Oakland Tech, and Oakland Unified School District. Kids Teach Tech has received the East Bay Economic Development Alliance Innovation Award in the Education category and has also been named a finalist for this award. The program offers free classes to youth and includes offerings such as an MLK Day coding class inspired by Dr. King’s dream, a Hispanic Heritage Month AI workshop, and a Girl Power! class created and taught by female leaders of Kids Teach Tech.
