About

Kids Teach Tech Coding Programs offers classes where students learn Python, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence concepts, Advanced Artificial Intelligence concepts, and Machine Learning concepts through hands-on projects in Python programming and a game coding class using Python. The program includes activities such as creating a fun Scratch game, collaborating on an interactive project inspired by Dr. King’s dream, learning how to interact with AI effectively, exploring AI tools, mastering the art of giving AI instructions, creating art with AI, and writing stories with AI. Students can also build a fully functional custom drone by designing, assembling, programming, and piloting a drone while learning principles of flight, electronics, and integration of AI for real-world applications, and they can create their own mobile app by learning the fundamentals of coding and design using SwiftUI, then building, designing the user interface for, and writing code for a real iPhone app.

• Schedule: Options include single-day classes and multi-day series, such as summer camps running several consecutive days and class series meeting on multiple Saturdays.
• Price: The 6th Annual U.C. Berkeley Engineering Summer Camp, Advanced AI U.C. Berkeley Engineering Summer Camp, Build Your Own Drone – 2 Class Series, Create Your Own Phone App – 3 Class Series, and Unlock the Power of AI are all described as free.

Kids Teach Tech states that its mission is to empower youth to seize the technology opportunities of their future and to enable students to become teachers and leaders who create and teach classes for their community. Kids Teach Tech teaches free classes to youth and partners with UC Berkeley Engineering, Georgia Tech, AI Institute, Urban League Bay Area, Ostrich Air, FireBot Labs, and the Urban League of the Greater SF Bay Area. Kids Teach Tech has an Oakland Leaders Program that is an internship program where Oakland leaders attend Berkeley Engineering Summer Camps learning Python, Data Science, and advanced AI, join the team of teachers and leaders training to teach a STEM camp including website design and development, and finish by planning how they will work together to lead Kids Teach Tech classes during the school year. Kids Teach Tech has received the East Bay Economic Development Alliance Innovation Award for the Education category and has also been one of two finalists for this award in the Education category. The Girl Power! – Women’s History Month class is created and taught by the female leaders of Kids Teach Tech, and everything in this class is introduced from the ground up so no experience is required.
