About

UC Berkeley Academic Talent Development Program offers challenging summer classes for high achieving and motivated young scholars. Courses are taught by outstanding public school, private school, and university instructors as well as industry professionals who have deep knowledge of their subject areas and are committed to helping students think and understand deeply. The program includes acclaimed options available both on site and online, including a Secondary Division, Elementary Division, Explorations, and the Global Program Brightwell.

• Schedule: Summer sessions with options including June 22–July 31, 2026, and July 13–31, 2026, plus in-person hours during the school year on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:30 AM to 5 PM

For over 40 years, ATDP has brought together passionate students from all across the Bay Area, the nation, and the world. Since 1982, the program has invited excelling students from the Bay Area and around the world into a unique academic community. Its stated mission is to enable all highly motivated and prepared students to pursue their academic passions through rigorous coursework in a community of like-minded peers. ATDP maintains a financial aid fund to help all qualified applicants attend the summer program, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

The program’s Secondary Division is for students completing grades 7–11, the Elementary Division is for students completing grades K–6, Explorations is for students completing grades K–11, and the Global Program Brightwell is for students completing grades 8–11. Secondary Division and Explorations run from June 22 to July 31, 2026, the Elementary Division runs from July 13 to July 31, 2026, and the Global Program Brightwell runs from July 13 to August 7, 2026. In-person hours during Fall 2025 through Spring 2026 are on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:30 AM to 5 PM.
